Bits for SpawnRequest::privileges. A spawner may only request what it HOLDS ITSELF - the kernel
checks, and refuses otherwise - so this passes authority on, it never mints it (3.1, 7.3).
Constants§
- ACQUIRE_
ANY - CONSOLE_
PUSH - CPU_
CLOCK - Set the Arm cores to the platform’s minimum or maximum clock (
CpuClock, syscall 55). Held by ONE service, power, because the clock is one machine-wide setting (docs/power.md). - FIRE_
IRQ - GPIO
- ARM-only in practice; the bit is arch-neutral.
- INTROSPECT
- NET_
DEVICE - NET_DEVICE: move ethernet frames through an in-kernel network device (
NetFrame*/NetInfo, syscalls 42-44). No port has one any more - every arch answers with a stub - and no spawn request in the tree sets this bit; the kernel still understands it. - PCI_CFG
- Read PCI configuration space through the legacy CF8/CFC ports (step D2). READ-ONLY and held
by ONE service - see
docs/service-ownership.mdD2 for why the write side is not on offer. - POWER_
OFF - Turn the machine off, now or at a deadline the kernel holds, or halt it where it cannot cut its own
power (
PowerOff, syscall 56). Held by the shell, for the operator (docs/shutdown.md). - REBOOT
- RESOURCE_
MINT - SERVICE_
CONTROL - SET_
CLOCK - SET_CLOCK with WRITE (set the wall clock). Distinct from SET_CLOCK_FLOOR, the READ right.
- SET_
CLOCK_ FLOOR - SET_CLOCK with READ (raise the clock FLOOR), not WRITE (step the clock).
